SHAUN EVANS WEB

The Scandalous Lady W - TV Film (2015)

The Scandalous Lady W is a television film on BBC Two, directed by Sheree Folkson and starring Natalie Dormer, Shaun Evans and Aneurin Barnard.
Plot: This gripping feature length drama, written by David Elridge (based on the book Lady Worsley's Whim by Hallie Rubenhold), details the scandalous life of Lady Seymour Worsley, who dared to leave her husband and elope with his best friend, Captain George Bisset. Lady Seymour Worsley escapes her troubled marriage only to find herself at the centre of a very public trial brought by her powerful husband Sir Richard Worsley.

Sunday Express, 17 August 2015, The Scandalous Lady W Review

Shaun Evans, who usually leaves the female contingent of Oxfordshire households weak at the knees as a young Inspector Morse in Endeavour, is loathsome as Sir Richard. He does creepy surprisingly convincingly. Yet he manages to elicit some sympathy and somehow isn't completely skin-crawling. Sir Richard is ultimately a sad, pathetic and sordid creature bereft of any morals.

Daily Mail Online, 22 August 2015, Review: The Scandalous Lady W

Evans perfectly conveyed his character’s journey from charming suitor to cruel monster with issues around ‘rantum-scantum.’
